Don't Really Understand Registry Errors or Why They May Slow Your Computer?

Errors in your windows registry can certainly make it operate slower than it should. But why will these errors cause it to slow down and also what are "registry errors"?

To begin with, why do the errors slow down the computer? This simple example might help: You are trying to get dressed so you go to your clothes closet and are going through your clothes. It's taking a lot longer to find what you would like to wear because yours and your spouse's clothes are all mixed in together, some shirts with blouses, pants with trousers, the dry cleaning is scattered out and still in bags.... you get the picture.

What would be much better is for everything to be where it should be. Blouses or shirts all hanging together, pants together, etc. Well this is what is going on in many computer registries. There is a mess of disorganized and wrong information in it and it basically takes longer to find the data resources needed.

Next, what are errors? I don't actually think the word "error" describes this very good. It is a lot like surplus pieces and just junk, but that does not sound very professional.

One of the biggest areas of errors is in the computer's start up. What programs are started automatically by the computer system as it cranks up. A lot of these are installed before you get your computer, by the factory. An example is an anti-virus program that gives you free use for thirty days, and you don't buy it but install your own preference. The old one is still there and a lot of times it is still trying to crank up.

Printers and print drivers seem to cause the largest number of computer problems for me. If you buy a new printer or attempt to print from one at home or at the office, good luck. Some of these printer manufacturers will add all sorts of programs on your computer when you install the print driver. And a good bit of this will become errors or junk for your computer to have to work around all the time.
