Fixing Your Cable Internet Switch Hub

High speed internet is one of the reasons that people are taking their research into the next level. Instead of borrowing books from the library, you can simply search them through the internet. But there's a disadvantage when it comes to high speed internet. If you are disconnected without notice, there may be a problem with the cable internet connection. One of the causes that prevents you from connecting to the World Wide Web is knows as the switch hub.

Switch hub is an external internet device that allows multiple computers to connect in a single IP (Internet Protocol) address of your router. It means that multiple LAN cables can connect to the router in order for the other users to get internet access. Why is it really necessary that switch hub could be the main problem instead of the server? Although cable internet providers are experiencing issues about the connection, we still have to apply these three simple steps.

Step #1. Open the Troubleshoot menu.

In your personal computer (PC), laptop or MAC, click on the LAN or internet icon on the bottom right (taskbar) and select the "Troubleshoot" feature. After you have clicked that feature, it will automatically process the issue or problem that you've faced with the internet. You may also notice that in the middle of the process, it resets your internet connection automatically and restores everything. But if not, the computer will give you instructions and apply it.

Action #2. Totally reset the actual router to your change centre.

After you're done with the first step, it's time for you to reset your switch hub's router. In your router, there's a tiny hole that says "Reset" and you should use a needle to sneak the tiny button. After you clicked the "Reset" button, wait for at least 10 minutes to refresh everything. If something goes wrong again, try to turn off the router for at least 10 minutes and turn it on once again. In this step, most of the people have good experience in fixing the router.

Step #3. Tighten the LAN cords on your switch hub.

In order for you to make sure that the connections are stable, it is time for you to tighten the LAN cords. For example, if your switch hub has 8 ports, you need to check the LAN cables if they're attached correctly. This step really depends if your service provider has problems or not. If they do have problems, you can contact them via e-mail, telephone, mobile or instant messenger. Once all the cables are tightened, try to check the status of your internet connection. If the "Bytes Sent" were lesser than the "Bytes Received", it means your cable internet connection was already fixed.
